‘Lifelong’ WWE superfan Joe Jonas ‘freaking out’ over WrestleMania 42 role
While it might’ve seemed random for WWE to tab Joe Jonas for a special role at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, having him sing the National Anthem before Night 2, he is very excited.
Jonas broke his silence after the news was made official, reacting to WWE’s post on X, formerly Twitter. He claims to have been a “lifelong” fan of the sport, and he’s pumped to be a part of WWE’s biggest event of the year.
“Ummm as a certified lifelong WWE super fan both me and the younger version of me are freaking out,” Jonas wrote in response to the news.

It’s unknown who will sing the National Anthem before Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 commences on Saturday, Apr. 18, 2026. WWE hasn’t announced it yet. Perhaps Jonas will pull double duty.
What is Joe Jonas’ role at WWE WrestleMania 42?

Jonas will open the second night of WrestleMania 42 by singing the National Anthem. It sounds like this has been a long time coming, as Jonas is a fan of WWE.
He is coming off the Greetings from Your Hometown Tour, which celebrated the Jonas Brothers’ seventh studio album and the band’s 20th anniversary. They performed 75 shows around North America from Aug. 10, 2025, to Dec. 30.
In 2025, Jonas also released his second solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, on May 23. This was his first solo album since 2011’s Fastlife. The album was preceded by three singles, “Work It Out,” “What This Could Be,” and “Heart by Heart.”
More recently, Jonas made a guest appearance during Teddy Swims’ Coachella set. They performed “When You Look Me in the Eyes” together.
WrestleMania 42 Night 2 will begin with Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi. Penta will also defend the Intercontinental Championship in a six-pack ladder match against Rey Mysterio, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and Rusev. These first two matches will be broadcast on ESPN, a major stage for WWE.
