Lane Kiffin, Marshall Faulk to team up for huge reason
Marshall Faulk and Lane Kiffin are set to team up for a huge reason this offseason. The duo is set to host a coaching clinic at Louisiana State University. The two-day event, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, is designed to provide coaches with insight into program building, strategy, and leadership while strengthening ties within the state’s football community.
The clinic will feature classroom-style sessions led by Kiffin and Faulk, where attendees can hear directly from the two coaches about their philosophies and approaches to the game. In addition to the instructional portion of the event, the schedule includes opportunities for networking and fellowship among coaches. Friday’s activities will include a crawfish social, while Saturday will give participants the chance to observe a practice session from the LSU Tigers football.
During a recent media availability, Kiffin emphasized that hosting the clinic is about investing in Louisiana’s broader football culture.
“This is critical to me you know being out and around… I love the way that the people in Louisiana are but then when you get to football the way that the coaches are and how much passion that they have and the players…I’ve really challenged our guys to have a phenomenal clinic… so that we can help make the state better.”
Kiffin also shared that his connection with Faulk is relatively recent. The two met while speaking at an event not long ago, but Kiffin said he has long admired Faulk’s legacy as a player.
“I really didn’t know Marshall… I met him when we were speaking somewhere the other week. I knew him as a player obviously… greatest show on turf… excited for him um you know to have this opportunity.”
He added, “I was at the game when they beat the Bucks to go to the Super Bowl… in St. Louis and my dad was the coordinator at the Bucks so I was there at the game… greatest show on turf.”
Kiffin said he is excited to see Faulk now stepping into a leadership role as head coach at Southern Jaguars football and expressed support for Faulk and his staff as they continue building the program.
“Some of his staff here was here today and just trying to help them any way we can.”
