Lakers rumors: Alleged LeBron James-Luka Doncic beef immediately shot down by multiple insiders
The Los Angeles Lakers have a few decisions to make this offseason, and it revolves around their big 3. Austin Reaves is set to have a huge payday, and it will be up to the Lakers on whether they want to re-sign him or let him walk. As for LeBron James, he’ll be a free agent, and he might also demand a lot of money, so the Lakers could re-sign him as well or let him walk (or he could retire).
The Lakers’ big 3 worked well together, especially during the second half of the season, where they went on a huge run in the month of March. Apparently, some people are claiming that it wasn’t all peaches and roses, and James and Doncic didn’t get along. Those types of rumors can definitely affect the Lakers’ offseason plans, but luckily, those rumors weren’t true.
Several insiders made a note on social media claiming that the report was false, and that James and Doncic actually have a close relationship.
“Dončić and James have a positive relationship and Dončić wants James to re-sign with the Lakers this summer, sources said. While growing up in Slovenia, Dončić looked up to James and values having him as a teammate, sources said,” Ashish Mathur of the Dallas Hoops Journal wrote in an article.
On the court, it looked like James and Doncic were always on the same page, and that worked out well for the team as a whole. Off the court, they’ve had nothing but good things to say about each other.
They seem like a good duo, and that could be a big reason why James decides to come back for another season. At the same time, it depends on what the Lakers are offering James, and whether Los Angeles is a place where he might want to end his career.
