Lakers’ LeBron James gushes over Stephen Curry’s special shoe choice

The Los Angeles Lakers took care of business on the road on Thursday after they downed the Golden State Warriors, 119-103, at Chase Center.

The Lakers won their first game since the season-ending injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, as LeBron James carried the depleted unit with a game-high 26 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals in 32 minutes.

It was a vintage performance, and also quite fitting since his signature shoes, the Nike LeBron X, were present. He, however, was not the one wearing them. It was Stephen Curry, although he did not play due to injury management.

Curry shook James by wearing the latter’s signature kicks. The 41-year-old James was elated, while also saluting the 38-year-old Curry for wearing the Nike Air Zoom Generation during the Warriors’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers last week.

“You got one of the all-time greats ever to rock my kicks. That was super cool,” said James.

“I saw the picture today when he was in Cleveland. He had my first signature kicks. Then he had the 10s today. Super special.”

James already reacted to Curry’s surprise when they had a brief chat a few moments before tip-off.

Curry, who recently returned from his knee injury, has continued to grab attention with his feet drip since mutually parting ways with Under Armour in November after a 12-year partnership. The two-time MVP said he needed to grow his brand and take on a different challenge.

He has worn the signature shoes of other current stars, including Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards and Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker.

James, meanwhile, is releasing the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Marble” this year, according to a report from Hypebeast. It is part of his lifestyle footwear line.
