Knicks star Tyler Kolek’s fit at The Odyssey premiere gets hilarious Loki comparison

Among the celebrities at the New York City premiere of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey was New York Knicks guard Tyler Kolek.

He showed up to the event wearing a brown blazer with a matching tie. One fan responded to the outfit, saying, “So Tyler Kolek is intentionally cosplaying [as] Loki, right?”

In fairness, he does look a lot like Tom Hiddleston’s MCU character in the Loki series. The character similarly wore a brown blazer and tie and has similarly long hair.

Why was Knicks’ Tyler Kolek at The Odyssey premiere?

It’s not exactly clear how Kolek ended up at the New York City premiere of The Odyssey. He plays for the Knicks, and they just won a championship, so perhaps invitations were given to the team.

Anne Hathaway, who stars in Nolan’s movie, is also a Knicks fan. She famously had Karl-Anthony Towns make a cameo in her last movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Either way, he attended the premiere and looked dapper while doing it. He did post a picture of Nolan before the screening of the movie began on his Instagram Stories. He had a great seat at the screening.

Kolek is heading into his third year in the NBA. He was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft out of Marquette by the Portland Trail Blazers. However, he would be traded to the Knicks in exchange for Dani Díez’s draft rights and several picks. Since joining the team, he has been sent to the Westchester Knicks as well.

During the 2025-26 NBA season, Kolek played in 62 games (21 more than in his rookie season), starting one of them. He averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in just under 12 minutes per contest. The season ended with the Knicks winning the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs in five games.
