Knicks’ Miles McBride’s girlfriend reveals lucky item behind NBA Finals victory

Miles McBride’s girlfriend had some tricks up her sleeve… well, underneath her shirt that she wore during the NBA Finals; that was her lucky item that brought the New York Knicks their NBA championship win.

Ana Zortea shared that she wore a “lucky bra” during the playoff run, which she believes aided in some wins for the Knicks on the road and at home.

“Every time I wear it, they win. Every time I wear it, they win,” Zortea tells host Skyler Caruso in the latest episode of WAG World released on Thursday, June 18.

The New York Knicks swept two teams, the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. It wasn’t until they faced the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals that they lost their 13-game winning streak. While Zortea hadn’t worn the bra to the other games, she did begin this strategy for the NBA Finals but her outfit choice for Game 3, which consisted of an orange satin halter top, did not work with the shirt, so she opted not to wear it.

“Sometimes I’m wearing a top where I can’t wear the bra, and it happened that they lost that one day,” explains Zortea.

After the loss, Zortea took matters into her own hands and strategically found a way for it to work with the rest of her outfits for the NBA Finals series.

“I’m going to make my top work around the bra. It’s going to have to work it in,” she recalled of choosing her outfits going forward.

As it goes to picking out her outfits for the regular season, she opts for more colors besides the orange and blue but quickly switches it up once they make the playoffs.

“I like to wear the Knicks colors, which is something that I don’t do during a regular season,” she shares. “I don’t even like to wear his face on my stuff, like on my shirt or anything — but when it comes to the playoffs, I’m all in. I’m bleeding orange and blue.”

Zortea explained that she will be making sure her “lucky bra” is ready for when the Knicks take the court again.

“My good luck charm next season,” she says.

McBride and Zortea began dating in 2021 after meeting at West Virginia University where she was in grad school. She is originally from Criciúma, Brazil and came to America to pursue swimming. The Knicks star and Zortea’s relationship has since progressed with them welcoming their first child Ace Katherine McBride in June 2025. McBride’s nickname is “Deuce” as a reference to her championship-winning father.
