Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns reveals Jordyn Woods’ reaction to James Dolan’s NSFW playoff request

Recently, there were rumors that James Dolan asked players to give up sex for the playoffs, which, true or not, resulted in the New York Knicks and Karl-Anthony Towns winning a championship.

However, going beyond the players, this rule must have been hard on the players’ partners. Appearing on The Howard Stern Show, KAT revealed his fiancée, Jordyn Woods, “didn’t like” the request.

“I’m a happily engaged man. I will definitely say, when I came home and I told my fiancée what he said, she didn’t like to hear that one,” KAT said with a laugh.

Stern then asked if he “delivered the goods” rather than listen to Dolan’s joking suggestion. Towns responded, “I would say she’s very happy,” while laughing.

Did James Dolan really ask the Knicks to give up sex for the playoffs?

It does appear that the reports are true and that Dolan facetiously asked his players to become celibate during the postseason. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart released an episode of Roommates that showed Dolan’s speech to the team before the playoffs. He did jokingly ask them to abstain from intimacy for 10 weeks.

“I had this idea that maybe you should give up sex for the next 10 weeks,” he said, which made some of the team chuckle. “You don’t have to give up sex for the next 10 weeks, but like Spartans — do you know what Spartans are? They denied themselves so that they could have an edge. Get the edge.”

He then asked his players to go home to their partners and talk it over. However, he didn’t want them to know he was the source of the idea.

“Don’t tell them it was my idea, but let them know what this is going to be like, what your commitment is going to be like, and how they’re going to have to sacrifice too,” he said.
