Kentucky Wildcats set to meet with All-Ivy League sharpshooter

As Kentucky continues to evaluate talent in the transfer portal, the Wildcats reportedly met with Yale transfer forward Isaac Celiscar via Zoom on Wednesday. A 6-6, 210-pound forward, Celiscar comes off a strong sophomore campaign at Yale and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Last season, Celiscar started all 31 games, averaging 13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 31.1 minutes per contest. He shot 57.3% from the field on 8.2 attempts per game and made 40.7% of his 3-point attempts (1.9 per game). He showcased his ability to perform in high-pressure situations, scoring 27 points against Cornell and 17 against Pennsylvania in the Ivy League tournament, followed by 23 points in an NIT matchup against UNC Wilmington.

Kentucky’s staff also met with two other prospects: 6-5 Furman guard Alex Wilkins and 6-3 Colgate guard Jalen Cox.

Wilkins, a sophomore and 46th-ranked transfer, averaged 17.8 points and 4.7 assists last season while shooting 46% from the field and 32.8% from beyond the arc. He led the Southern Conference in possession usage (34.4%) and shot usage (31.7%), though he averaged 3.8 turnovers per game.

Meanwhile, Cox, a 6-3 senior, contributed 17.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game on 52.1% shooting from the field and 36.5% from three-point range. A multiple conference All-Defense honoree, Cox offers two-way experience to a Wildcats’ team exploring options.

Isaac Celiscar’s combination of efficiency, versatility, and proven postseason scoring makes him a high-priority target for Kentucky. His addition could provide an immediate impact in both scoring and floor spacing for the Wildcats.
