Crystal Palace are expected to make a bid worth up to £50m for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, talkSPORT understands.

Leeds had an offer worth in excess of £30m for the Norway international rejected last week.

Wolves have valued the 25-year-old at closer to £40m.

The Premier League‘s rock bottom side rejected an offer of £55m from Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Palace have stepped up talks in recent days with intermediaries working on Strand Larsen’s exit.

Now talkSPORT understands they will table an offer worth £45m with another £5m in add-ons.

Strand Larsen is seen as a replacement for want-away Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Nottingham Forest have already tabled a £35million bid for the forward, with personal terms not seen as an issue.

However, Spurs could be ones to watch too in the final days of the window.

talkSPORT’s verdict on Strand Larsen

He has scored 14 goals in 35 games for Wolves last season and that saw him in huge demand.

However, he has struggled in 2025/26 and found the net just once in 19 games.

With Wolves heading towards relegation, it looks like they will opt to cash in now.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has been less than impressed with what he has seen from Strand Larsen.

He told talkSPORT: “I’ve watched Strand Larsson, I think he’s a donkey. If Palace think he’s something different and they’ve got the replacement, some would say 18 months ago that Mateta was one too.

“He’s hit a vein of form under [manager] Oliver Glasner. Everybody in the end gets what they deserve.

“You can look at the karma that goes around football and work out where it lands.

“The fact is he wants to leave, he’s entitled to leave. Palace can bank a load of cash on him, buy a new player that wants to come to Crystal Palace and move on.

“The manager is going to go, they’ll replace him with another manager that will hopefully keep Palace afloat in the Premier League and order will be returned.”

Relegation transfer battle

Here talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook runs through who the Premier League strugglers will attempt to sign in the final days of the window.

West Ham

West Ham have been busy already. They’ve signed a couple of strikers. They obviously got Adama Traore through the door yesterday for £2m, a player Nuno Espirito Santo knows really well.

They’re looking for a goalkeeper and we’ve been reporting for the last 48 hours or so about their talks with Antonin Kinsky at Tottenham.

Nottingham Forest

Forest will do business as they always do. [Owner] Evangelos Marinakis is someone who backs his manager. We know they’re interested in Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Evan Ferguson, the Brighton striker on loan at Roma, is someone who’s come on my radar in terms of Forest over the last couple of days, so we’re keeping an eye on that.

Wolves

Wolves are trying to sign Angel Gomes from Marseille, the diminutive England international midfielder, but you wonder if other clubs higher up the table might come in for him this January window.

Burnley

Burnley have just signed James Ward-Prowse which i think would be a good addition for them.

It’s probably too little too late in terms of saving themselves from relegation but at least they’re trying to back Scott Parker.
