Jordan Henderson speaks for first time as dad reveals he ‘completely smashed’ forearm in freak injury
Jordan Henderson has broken his silence after being ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup.
The England midfielder will play no further part at this summer’s tournament after suffering a broken radius.

Henderson requires surgery on the freak injury, which he suffered after the Three Lions’ win over Mexico on Sunday.
The 36-year-old fell after attempting to jump over an advertising hoarding during their post-match celebrations.
Henderson update
Having been stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital, Henderson has now spoken for the first time since the incident.
He took to social media to share a message to supporters following England’s last 16 victory.
Writing on Instagram, Henderson said: “A night to remember that’s for sure!
“What an incredible performance against all the different challenges.
“So proud to be a part of this special team. Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday.”
England will now face Norway in Miami on Saturday, with kick-off at 10pm, live on talkSPORT.
The winner will meet either Argentina or Switzerland in the last four.
New details
Henderson’s dad, Brian, has also provided new details of his son’s nasty injury setback.

He had been watching the incident play out from his home in the North East before seeking out contact with the Brentford man.
Speaking via the Daily Mail, Brian explained: “At first I just thought he’d fallen. I thought he’d maybe scraped his wrist.
“I had no idea it was that serious until they were interviewing Harry Kane and a trolley came past with Jordan on it. I could see him on there with oxygen and things.
“Straight away, I messaged his PA, who was over there, to try and find out what had happened. I was up all night waiting to hear the news. It’s just a waiting game now.”
He added: “It’s his left forearm, he’s just completely smashed it.
“He’s going to have a cast on and then it depends on what the experts say.”

This summer’s World Cup represents Henderson’s seventh major tournament finals with England.
He has won 90 caps for the Three Lions, with his only appearance in North America coming against Panama in the group stage.
