Jon Rahm, DP World tour settle dispute
Adare Manor will feature Jon Rahm after all.
There had been some discussion and/or concern around whether or not Spaniard Jon Rahm would be able to tee it up on behalf of Team Europe when the Ryder Cup visits Ireland next year. Given Rahm’s relationship with the DP World tour, how that has been fractured by his membership in LIV Golf, and a million other things in between, Rahm was facing fines that he took issue with and those fines threatened his potential to be a part of the European group.
Beyond the fines that were of issue, participation in certain DP World Tour events was seemingly a flashpoint. Whatever the case may be it would appear that all matters are resolved which ensures that Rahm will be playing in the Ryder cup.
But what of everything between now and then? With all of the rumors of LIV Golf potentially folding or changing on some level… will Rahm still be a part of it then? Will there be something to be a part of? Could he possibly be back on the PGA Tour? If some other avenue opens up for him to pursue to re-join it?
As there have been for several years now, there remain a lot of questions. Rahm discussed all relevant matters on Tuesday ahead of this week’s LIV event and specifically said that he doesn’t see “many ways out” of his contract with the league.
To be clear Rahm seemed to be talking about his contract with the league. At the moment it would seem that everyone involved is operating under the same sort of overall premise to continue on as planned until something changes. It is all, as it has been, a matter of if anything will change.
