John Calipari hypes up Kings after Darius Acuff Jr. pick
The Sacramento Kings will feel like they’re walking away with a steal in the NBA Draft, as star Arkansas point guard Darius Acuff Jr. fell to them at No. 7. The Kings quickly scooped up arguably the best scorer in the class and now have their next franchise player during their rebuild.
Acuff was coached in college by one of the best, John Calipari, while at Arkansas. Calipari was at the NBA Draft with Acuff and his family on Tuesday night, and he posted his congratulations to his latest star guard on social media after the pick was made.
“With NBA Lottery pick and Sacramento Kings Guard Darius Acuff Jr!!!” Calipari wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Congratulations to the entire family! The Kings are getting a fierce competitor and winner.”
