Jazz fans will love Keyonte George’s 2027 playoff proclamation
Despite another woeful season, there was a charge of optimism in the air during the exit interviews of the Utah Jazz on Monday. One player who was very hopeful for their future was Keyonte George.
The Jazz finished with a 22-60, tied with the Sacramento Kings for the worst record in the Western Conference. Utah missed the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
George had a breakout campaign in his third year, averaging career-highs of 23.6 points, 6.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. He, however, was limited to just 54 games due to various injuries. Still, he showed that he can be one of the most productive guards in the league.
When asked about whether the Jazz can make the playoffs next season, the 22-year-old George did not bat an eyelash, as shown in the video posted by Sports Illustrated.
“For sure. No doubts about it. On paper, we look phenomenal, we’re big, have length, we can shoot, get to the rim. We have multiple defensive guys who can protect the paint and the perimeter. If you look at us, we have all the tools,” said George.
He added that he expects the Jazz to become more cohesive, now that they have gone through another challenging campaign.
“From top to bottom, everybody knows what they’re capable of. So I expect us to have good camaraderie. I expect us to come in with a common goal every single day,” said George.
“I expect every day, honestly, to be fun.”
Keyonte George on his expectations for the Jazz next season:
"I expect every day to be fun. Things have went the way they've went the past couple of years. But I think for us now… we all have a common goal."
Can they make the playoffs?

The Jazz drafted George as the 16th overall pick in 2023, envisioning him as the team’s playmaker. He has improved every season, and it won’t be a surprise if he makes his first appearance in the All-Star Game next year.
As he mentioned, Utah has a complete roster, with him, Lauri Markannen, Walker Kessler, Jaren Jackson Jr., Ace Bailey, Brice Sensabaugh, Isaiah Collier, Jusuf Nurkic, and Kyle Filipowski forming the main rotation.
If they can stay healthy, the Jazz could shock the league.
