The Carolina Hurricanes have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals after defeating the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 4. It took overtime for the Hurricanes to get the victory, and it was Jackson Blake who came up with the shot to get them past the Flyers.

He ripped a shot past the goalie for his second goal of the game, and the Hurricanes’ undefeated streak in the playoffs continues. With the shot, Blake made history, according to NHL PR.

“Jackson Blake scored with 5:31 in overtime to help the Hurricanes advance to the Eastern Conference Final. He joined Cutter Gauthier as the second 22-year-old with a series-clinching goal in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs,” NHL PR wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Logan Stankoven had his seventh tally of the playoffs late in the third period of Game 4 to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead after a cross-ice pass from Taylor Hall. The Flyers didn’t give up, and they were able to tie the game just a few minutes later when Alex Bump shot past Frederik Andersen’s glove side from the slot after a setup from Travis Konecny.

The Flyers had chances throughout to take the lead, but the Hurricanes continued to execute like they have all playoffs to secure the win.

The Hurricanes will face either the Montreal Canadiens or Buffalo Sabres in the next round. Though they’ve been successful in this run, they know that the job is not finished.

“I know it seems like it’s coming to us pretty easy, but it’s not,” Taylor Hall said after Game 4 via Sportsnet. “We haven’t had the games that we wanted, but we’ve always gotten to our game as the game goes on. Lots to be proud of, but we’re only halfway there.”
