Jack Eichel sparks electric Golden Knights comeback win in Avalanche Game 2

The Vegas Golden Knights won Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche in the 2026 Western Conference Finals. However, it appeared as if this team would wind up on the losing end of Game 2. That is, until Jack Eichel found the back of the net and changed the complexion of this game.

Eichel scored the game-tying goal in the third period. And shortly after his goal, he added an assist on Ivan Barbashev’s game-winning goal. The Golden Knights completed the comeback and won Game 2 by the score of 3-1. As a result, Vegas has a 2-0 series lead in the West Final.

The Avalanche started with the lead thanks to Ross Colton. He took advantage of a rebound and slotted the puck past Carter Hart to make it a 1-0 game in the first period. The Avalanche were able to maintain this lead until the third period.

It was a bit of a brutal game for Eichel until the third period. He turned it all around with his performance in the final frame. And it was certainly the sort of performance he needed, considering recent results.

Eichel’s goal against the Avalanche was his first goal since Game 3 against the Utah Mammoth in the first round. That game took place on April 24, nearly a full month prior to Thursday’s win.

The Golden Knights were down, but proved they certainly are not out. Vegas has a commanding 2-0 series lead, and they have home ice advantage for the next two games. The 2026 West Final shifts to T-Mobile Arena in the Sin City on Sunday night for Game 3.
