Is Kawhi Leonard playing tonight? Clippers vs. Thunder injury report

The LA Clippers have just less than one week remaining in the 2025-26 regular season, and are doing everything they can to keep the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Their final three-game stretch begins on Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Seven-time NBA All-Star Kawhi Leonard has played nine straight games after missing two-of-three due to a left ankle sprain in the middle of March. Wednesday night’s game against the Thunder is the second night of a back-to-back set for the Clippers.

Considering the Clippers schedule in March and April and the back-to-back nature, it’s fair to wonder: will Kawhi will play tonight against the Thunder?

Here’s everything we know about Kawhi Leonard’s injury status for tonight’s game vs. the Thunder.

Kawhi Leonard’s injury status vs. Thunder

Kawhi Leonard has not been listed on the injury report over the last few games, but has been dealing with repeated ankle and wrist issues as the Clippers try to climb up the Western Conference standings. But Leonard has now played in three straight games for the Clippers, averaging 28.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals in 19 games since the start of March.

Ahead of the game, the LA Clippers have announced their injury report, and Leonard is not listed on it. The franchise has historically been cautious history with the two-time NBA Finals MVP, but Leonard appears to be healthy enough to play through an ankle or wrist discomfort and is no longer needing to be listed on the injury report. It’s a good sign for the Clippers, who are essentially in a tie with the Portland Trail Blazers for the eighth seed in the West.

The Clippers are hopeful to keep their spot as the eighth seed with just three games remaining and continue to build chemistry between Leonard, Darius Garland, and Bennedict Mathurin after the latter two were acquired at the February trade deadline.

Leonard has been mostly healthy this season, playing 63 of the Clippers’ 79 games thus far. 10 of the 16 games that Leonard has missed were due to a severe right ankle sprain back in November. Despite suffering a left ankle injury against the Kings a few weeks ago, Leonard has extended his streak of games with 20+ points, now doing it in 55 consecutive games. Leonard passed Bob McAdoo for the longest streak in franchise history, and now has the second-longest active streak behind Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who he will see on Wednesday night.

“It’s amazing,” Kawhi Leonard said of making Clippers history. “Thank God for me being able to play consistently this year and being able to be in the conversation with the greats of this game.

“It’s always great to just be on the floor and be able to play basketball. There’s a lot of ups and downs that you go through in the NBA, either it’s a bad game, missing shots, being sick, or team failing and then the highs. It’s great to just be able to be in the conversation with greats like him.”

This season, the Clippers are 37-26 in the 63 games that Kawhi Leonard has played and 4-12 in the 16 games he hasn’t. They’re also 0-3 in the three games that Leonard has left in the fourth quarter due to injury — against the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Sacramento Kings.

Leonard is averaging 28.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals while shooting 50.6 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from three, and 89.5 percent from the free throw line.. The 28.1 points are a career-high.

The Clippers have put together a 41-38 record, turning their season around and going 35-17 since starting the season 6-21.
