Is De’Aaron Fox playing tonight? Spurs vs. Thunder 2026 Western Conference Finals Game 2 injury report

All eyes will remain on Victor Wembanyama as he aims anew to carry the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center on Wednesday.

Wembanyama powered the Spurs to victory in double overtime in Game 1 with a historic performance, including the clutch three-pointer in the first extension that stunned the home crowd.

It was the perfect time for the 22-year-old center to dominate, especially since De’Aaron Fox was still sidelined due to an ankle injury.

With the Thunder seeking revenge in Game 2, the Spurs would need Fox’s leadership and steadiness.

Fox was listed as questionable in the NBA’s injury report, meaning the veteran guard is trending in the right direction.

He has been dealing with the ankle injury since Game 4 of the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves, colliding with Ayo Dosunmu during a loose ball.

Despite being sidelined in Game 1, the 28-year-old playmaker still made his presence felt on the bench. His attitude was acknowledged by coach Mitch Johnson, as reported by the San Antonio Express-News’ Tom Orsborn.

“He was great on the bench. He was continuing to give the guys direction and talking to the players in the game. You have someone who’s been playing with these guys, so to have that perspective was really helpful,” said Johnson.

Dylan Harper did a terrific job in filling in for Fox, tallying 24 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and seven steals.

Fox is averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in the playoffs.
