Is Aaron Gordon playing tonight? Nuggets vs. Timberwolves 2026 NBA Playoffs Game 6 injury report

The Denver Nuggets will try to keep their season alive in Game 6 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. They could be without Aaron Gordon during the win-or-go-home matchup.

Gordon is questionable on Thursday due to left calf tightness. The 6-foot-8 forward missed Games 3 and 5 of the series due to his calf ailment. David Adelman said on Wednesday that Gordon “wasn’t moving great” during Game 4 and that you could see the “wear and tear” as the game progressed, via Bennett Durando of the Denver Post.

“I’m not a doctor. I’m not a trainer. But obviously, you guys could see it. I could see it. There is a point where it’s not good for him; it’s not good for the team. And everybody knows Aaron that wants to play. The guy’s the ultimate teammate. He’s been so good for us over the years. But we have to do what’s right for him and the team,” Adelman said.

While Gordon could still play through the injury, Adelman’s comments don’t bode well for the forward’s availability during Game 6.

Gordon has been a shell of himself while playing through injury during the first-round series. He’s averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists on .400/.214/.700 shooting splits in 29.7 minutes per game across his three appearances. His lingering injury presents a significant blow to Denver’s playoff rotation.

Gordon was one of the NBA’s most impactful players from an on/off standpoint during the regular season. The Nuggets were 11.5 points better per 100 possessions with Gordon on the court than off, the ninth-highest net rating swing among all NBA players who played over 1,000 minutes, per CleaningTheGlass.

Fortunately for Denver, the Timberwolves will be without Anthony Edwards (knee bone bruise) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles tear) for the remainder of the series. Should the Nuggets win their next two games and advance, they’ll need Gordon closer to full strength during a second-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.
