The Rajasthan Royals made history becoming the first team to lift the IPL crown, in 2008. While they have not won the title since, the team has become one of the most inspiring franchises in the league, with a long history and a robust ecosystem of cricketing operations.

The team has become a developmental haven for young players, with exponents like Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. They go into 2026 with a balanced unit and will look to add to their inaugural triumph.

Here are three Rajasthan Royals records that may be unbreakable

3) Oldest IPL debutant

Pravin Tambe made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals at the age of 41, in the 2013 season. Up until that period, he was yet to play cricket at the highest-level and was playing for clubs in Mumbai while balancing a day-job. Tambe’s leg spin impressed scouts from the team and he was handed a contract for the 2013 season.

In three seasons for the Royals he picked up 23 wickets with his crafty leg spin, including 15 in a dominant 2014 season. Tambe also picked up a hat-trick in that season, becoming the oldest player to achieve that feat as well.

2) Youngest IPL debutant

Not one but two age records: RR also hold the record for the youngest IPL debutant when in the 2025 season 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut for the franchise. Making his debut against the Lucknow Super Giants, Vaibhav started with a bang, launching Shardul Thakur for six in his first ball of the IPL.

He had a brilliant season with the bat, scoring 252 runs from seven games, striking at a whopping 206.56. His run also saw him shatter the record for the fastest century by an Indian in the IPL, getting to three figures off just 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans.

1) Fastest half-century

Yashasvi Jaiswal set the record for the fastest half-century in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals, reaching the milestone off just 13 balls in 2023 against the Kolkata Knight Riders, while chasing 150.

Jaiswal reached the milestone in just the third over of the match and finished unbeaten on 98 off just 47, picking up the Player of the Match award and helping finish the chase in just 13.1 overs. An innings of dominance and destruction, Jaiswal’s innings set the platform for the Royals to pace the chase and wrap it up with ease.
