Most Fair Play Awards in IPL history - 7 times

While trophies define success, sportsmanship defines legacy, and CSK, led by the genius MS Dhoni. have excelled at both. That could be seen with the unique record that the franchise holds for the most IPL Fair Play Awards, winning the honour for a staggering seven times (2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2025).  

Generally, the Fair Play award is given to the team with the best record of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for the rules and opponents. The award reflects discipline, respect for the game, and the spirit of cricket, qualities CSK have consistently displayed successfully over the years. 

10 Consecutive Playoff Qualifications - Between 2008 to 2019

Consistency is the hallmark of any champion side, and CSK took it to another level by qualifying for the playoffs in every season they played from the inaugural edition in 2008 to the 2019 season, excluding the two seasons in which they did not participate due to the suspension. But their 10 consecutive qualifications is an extraordinary feat in a league known for its unpredictability and insane competitiveness. 

Even more impressively, the streak came despite evolving squads, intense competition, and the ever-changing dynamics of T20 cricket. The run was finally broken in 2020, where they finished seventh in the points table. The Chennai-based franchise also hold the record for the most Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff appearances, having qualified for the playoffs 12 times

Most IPL Final Appearances - 10 times

Reaching an IPL final is a challenge in itself, but doing it 10 times is nothing short of phenomenal. CSK have played 10 finals, winning five titles during the 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, 2023 editions of the IPL and finishing runners-up on five different occasions. They are, along with the Mumbai Indians, the most successful franchise in IPL history with five titles to their name.
