Igor Tudor warned he could be sacked as Tottenham manager after less than three weeks

Igor Tudor may have bitten off more than he can chew at Tottenham.

A 2-1 loss to Fulham on Sunday consigned Tudor to his second defeat as Tottenham’s interim boss and the club’s fourth on the bounce.

The result left Tottenham 16th with 29 points, just four clear of the relegation zone with 10 games remaining.

Speaking after the match, Tudor claimed Tottenham were lacking across all areas of the pitch as well as ‘brains’.

“They arrive before us,” Tudor said.

“They predict and we are always late on everything. That’s the problem.”

Luckily for the north London outfit, both Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, who are 17th and 18th respectively, also lost over the weekend.

But should Tottenham’s alarming form continue and either Forest or West Ham pick up points, Spurs podcaster Ricky Sacks believes fears the club may be tempted to roll the dice yet again in a last-ditch attempt to find one final spark.

Why Ricky Sacks is concerned about Igor Tudor

“Tudor’s come in to a battle where honestly, at the moment, I’m really unsure whether we’ve made the right decision,” Sacks said on talkSPORT Breakfast.

“He was a firefighter, but he’s walked into Tottenham… I think he doesn’t realise until he’s got in there the actual mess the club is in.

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if another couple of defeats, they may look to change him.

“I’m worried that in his first two games, he’s gone in and absolutely buried them.

“Don’t get me wrong, they probably deserve to be buried. But how is that productive in terms of trying to get results out of this group when you’re already decimated by injuries and you’ve only got 12, 13 players fit to work with?”

More change in north London?

Should Tudor be axed, Tottenham would be looking for a different face in the dugout for the third time this season.

Thomas Frank began the campaign as Tottenham manager having taken over from Ange Postecoglou, who famously ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought last term.

Despite being handed a deal through to June 2028, Frank lasted just eight months and was axed having won just 13 games from 38 across all competitions.

Ally McCoist names two contenders who could replace Igor Tudor

As for who could replace Tudor, Breakfast co-host and former Rangers manager Ally McCoist believed Tottenham could turn to one of two club legends, both of which he felt should have got the job after Frank’s sacking.

“It’s a little bit harsh on him to go straight away when he’s only two games in, but I can understand it,” McCoist said.

“For me, it was a kind of strange appointment. I’m still a little bit concerned at some of the body language from the Spurs players that we’re witnessing.

“In terms of the appointment, it’s the easiest thing in the world to say, but at the time I’d have thought it’d have been more beneficial to get, even if only until the end of the season, either a Glenn [Hoddle] or a Harry Redknapp.

“I think it gives the whole club a boost and it’ll lift the whole place.

Tudor will look to avoid a third-straight loss on Thursday when Tottenham host Crystal Palace in a must-win league fixture.
