How Mikal Bridges answered Jadakiss’ NBA Finals question

During the regular season, New York Knicks wing Mikal Bridges was in the midst of a slump, stirring up questions about whether or not the Knicks overpaid for him when they pulled off the trade with the Brooklyn Nets. However, those questions have since been silenced following Mikal Bridges’ performance during the playoffs amid the Knicks’ NBA Finals run.

During a media availability session in between games of the NBA Finals, Bridges was asked by rap mogul and cohost of the ‘Joe and Jada Show,’ Jadakiss, about how important having the support of Knicks’ coach Mike Brown and the rest of the team helped him emerge from the slump, as per ClutchPoints’ Knicks beat reporter Kris Pursiainen.

“Very important. Just helped me to stay in the right mindset,” Bridges said. “They helped me out a lot and staying together as a group, the biggest goal is to win … to be the best version of myself for us to have a chance.”

Bridges has had a major impact throughout the Knicks’ run to the Finals. His performances was especially impactful during the team’s Game 2 win to take a 2-0 series lead going back home. He finished with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from the 3-point line. He also added six rebounds, six assists and one steal.

During the playoffs, he’s been averaging 14.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals with splits of 58,5 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 95.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

With the Knicks looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, they’re going to need continued production from Bridges.
