Heat’s injury report vs. Hawks with play-in seeding still TBD

On Sunday evening, the Miami Heat will hit the floor for their final game of the regular season at home against the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat still have plenty left to play for heading into this one, with their final seeding in the play-in tournament not yet locked up. Here’s everything we know about Miami’s injury situation heading into the game vs the Hawks.

The Heat thankfully have a mostly clean injury report heading into the Hawks matchup. Norman Powell is listed as questionable with right groin soreness, and Nikola Jovic will remain out with an ankle injury, but outside of that, no other key Miami rotational players are listed as questionable or worse.

Meanwhile, the Heat could be taking on a very shorthanded Hawks team, who have listed nearly their entire normal rotation as questionable for this one, including Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jalen Johnson, CJ McCollum, Onyeka Okongwu, Dyson Daniels, and Jonathan Kuminga. Jock Landale will remain out with an ankle injury caused by Orlando Magic backup Goga Bitadze on a play for which he was ejected.

The Heat would need both a win and a loss by the Charlotte Hornets against the New York Knicks in order to slide into the nine spot in the East and be able to host Charlotte in the play-in tournament next week, as opposed to having to travel on the road.

Miami did become the first team in play-in history to make the playoffs as a ten seed last year, but it’s not a formula they’d like to have to repeat.

While the Hawks’ dicey injury situation should certainly help matters, the Hornets will be playing against a Knicks team that will be sitting most of its core rotation.

In any case, tipoff for the Heat is set for 6:00 pm ET.
