Heat’s Giannis Antetokounmpo spotted at Aces vs. Liberty after blockbuster trade

Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to be the newest member of the Miami Heat, but that will have to wait until the sixth of July before it becomes official. Nonetheless, the deal is basically as good as done, with Antetokounmpo now looking to get a new contending lease in life after running the course with the Milwaukee Bucks and hitting a brick wall.

Antetokounmpo is wasting no time to start cultivating what will be a fruitful relationship, both on and off the court, with Heat star Bam Adebayo. On Tuesday, on the first night of the 2026 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo was spotted in attendance for the Las Vegas Aces’ clash against the New York Liberty — presumably to be in support of Adebayo, who’s there in support of his significant other, Aces star A’ja Wilson.

The Aces ended up losing that contest, 87-76, with Wilson putting up a subpar game (for her standards) — recording 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and four steals, but on a paltry 7-18 shooting from the field.

Nevertheless, Adebayo and Wilson have made it a point to be there for each other during their respective gamedays, and it looks like Antetokounmpo at least wanted to be there for his newest co-star.

Antetokounmpo has not made his adoration of Adebayo as a basketball player a secret whatsoever; he was among those who defended the Heat star when he became the NBA’s second all-time leading scorer in a single game after putting up 83 points in a win on the 10th of March.

The Heat were also adamant about not trading Adebayo away in any potential Antetokounmpo deal, and they got their wish.

The goal now for Miami is to build a solid supporting cast around their two stars, but they’re better positioned to compete now than they were a few days ago with the arrival of the two-time MVP.
