Golden Knights’ Jack Eichel misses easy scoring chance that could end Stanley Cup dreams

The Vegas Golden Knights are on the brink of elimination in Game 6. The Carolina Hurricanes have the lead over Vegas in this crucial Stanley Cup Final contest. Jack Eichel had a grade-A chance to bring the Golden Knights within one goal of Carolina in Game 6. Unfortunately, he just missed it.

The Golden Knights would have only needed one goal to tie had Eichel connected. Instead, they remain two goals down with their season on the line. It’s an unfortunate miss that could certainly spell disaster for Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final.

Vegas began this series winning two of the first three games. However, they have been snake bitten as of late. Goaltender Carter Hart allowed four or more goals in each of the first five games in this series. He has been better in Game 6, allowing two goals on 21 shots at time of writing.

Unfortunately for Vegas, the goaltending has been stronger at the other end of the ice. Hurricanes rookie Brandon Bussi has stopped all 22 shots he has faced in this contest. He has made some incredible saves, especially on second-chance opportunities in front of the goal.

The Golden Knights are pushing with everything they have. But time is certainly not on their side. We are entering the final minutes of Game 6. Bussi is standing tall despite the intense pressure, and the Hurricanes have their ultimate goal right in front of them. It will certainly be interesting to see which side blinks first at the end of this contest.
