Giants’ Abdul Carter is fired up for 76ers-Knicks playoff series

It’s safe to say that New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter is hyped about the upcoming NBA playoff series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks following the Sixers’ improbable Game 7 win after a 3-1 comeback against the Boston Celtics.

Carter reacted to a post by ESPN to hype up the upcoming playoff series. It features Tyrese Maxey and Jalen Brunson squaring off like an old-school boxing promotional poster.

The second-year NFL star promised, “I’m courtside for this,” along with three fire emojis at the start of his message. Given that the NFL offseason is still going on, he has the time to attend some of the games if he wants.

The 76ers-Knicks playoff series

Somewhat improbably, the Sixers advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs. They started their playoff run with a 32-point loss to the Celtics in Game 1 before winning Game 2 by 14 points.

However, they found themselves down 3-1 after dropping the next two games. They then won three in a row to bounce the Celtics out of the playoffs and advance to face the Knicks.

The Sixers won Game 7 by nine points behind Joel Embiid’s 34 points. Embiid also had 12 rebounds and six assists. Tyrese Maxey also scored 30 points in the win.

They have the Knicks waiting for them in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The series begins on Monday, May 4, at Madison Square Garden.

Since New York finished as the higher seed, Philadelphia will be on the road for the first two games of the series. The next two will be played at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The last time the Knicks and 76ers played in the postseason was during the 2023-24 season. New York beat the Sixers in six games to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where they would lose to the Indiana Pacers in seven games.
