‘The Bullet’ reached his career best performance at Alexandra Palace in this tournament last year, reaching the semi final before losing out against eventual world champion and current world number one Luke Littler.

The 40-year-old from Liverpool is looking to go at least one step further in this year’s competition, with a potential round four clash against either Martin Schindler or Ryan Searle awaiting him for a place in the quarter final should he progress on Saturday.

James Hurrell is competing in just his second PDC World Darts Championship and has reached the third round of the competition fir the first time in his career.

Currently ranked world number 63, “Hillbilly” defeated American qualifier Stowe Buntz in his first round clash before upsetting the odds to beat the 29th seed Dirk van Duijvenbode to reach round three for the very first time.

The 41-year-old from Banbury, Oxfordshire has only previously faced Bunting once before in his professional career, falling to a 6-2 loss in a 2023 Players Championship clash.
