Germany are expected to be a dominant force in this game though Ivory Coast shouldn’t be underestimated in defence.

They’re a strong side that will make it difficult for Germany to really dominate proceedings.

That said, after the 7-1 demolition of Curacao you can’t see Germany being held without a goal nor without a win here.

Germany to dominate

Germany started their group stage game off with a bang, scoring seven goals and even opened the scoring in the first six minutes against Curacao last weekend.

They did however get a brief wake up call as they levelled the scores in the 21st minute.

From then on though, it was all Germany scoring twice more in the first half before scoring two minutes into the second.

Kai Havertz scored twice including a penalty alongside five other scorers including Felix Nmecha and Jamal Musiala.

With that in mind, even coming up against a stronger defence in Ivory Coast, Germany are still likely to take a commanding win whether it be 2-0, 3-0 or 4-1 for instance.

Cards and corners

Interestingly, Germany only had eight corners when playing Curacao, despite having as many as 26 shots on goal and 11 hitting the target.

65% possession but still didn’t have cards against or for them in a game that only really focused on goals and attacks.

Over corners seems like a great bet but only for the lower single digits in case it ends in the same way as the Curacao opener.

There were plenty of fouls though, 26 in that game and there’s sure to be more with both sides looking to confirm their place in the knockouts.

The referee has dished out 4.61 yellow cards per game and given that Ivory Coast were given three cards in their last match suggests there could be a few given out here.
