Former AEW champion suffers dislocated shoulder injury at Dynasty

In the second last match of the night on the Apr. 12, 2026 edition of AEW Dynasty, fans saw Kyle O’Reilly make his long-awaited return to join hands with Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong’s The Conglomeration.

Shortly after, in a short match, O’Reilly trapped one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions, Clark Connors of The Dogs, in an ankle lock and tapped him out. O’Reilly, with his match-winning performance moments after his return, helped The Conglomeration secure the title.

However, while O’Reilly and his partners celebrated in joy, Gabe Kidd of The Dogs did not have such a pleasant night. In addition to losing his titles, Kidd also suffered an injury at the PPV. According to Bryan Alvarez of WON, Kidd suffered a dislocated shoulder injury in the match, post which he had to walk to the back with security and doctors. However, it is also to be noted that Kidd’s injury did not affect the ending of the bout, as The Conglomeration was always supposed to win. Later at the Dynasty post-show media scrum, it was also noted that Kidd was now out injured indefinitely.

The Dogs had previously won the titles from Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey, and Mistico on Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026, edition of AEW Collision, which was taped after the Apr. 8, 2026, episode of Dynamite in Edmonton, Canada.

Kyle O’Reilly makes long-awaited AEW return

While Kidd’s night had a disappointing end, Kyle O’Reilly made a triumphant return to AEW after suffering and recovering from a bulging neck disc injury and a fractured arm. His last match dated back to a No Holds Barred match between him and Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear. Absent for several months, O’Reilly is finally back in AEW and already has a title over his shoulder.
