First Look Teaser for Pedro Almodóvar's 'Amarga Navidad' New Movie

"La nueva película de Pedro Almodóvar." Warner Bros Spain has unveiled a teaser trailer for a surprise new Pedro Almodóvar movie ready for release in early 2026. It's titled Amarga Navidad, which translates in Spanish to Bitter Christmas, and it's another Spanish drama from the master Spanish filmmaker. During a long December holiday weekend, a woman, whose mother died recently, throws herself into more work as a form of escape. Her relentless pace is interrupted when a panic attack forces her to take a break. So she travels to Lanzarote with her friend Patricia while her partner Bonifacio stays in Madrid. Amarga Navidad stars Bárbara Lennie, with Leonardo Sbaraglia, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Victoria Luengo, Patrick Criado, Milena Smit, Quim Gutiérrez, Rossy de Palma, Carmen Machi, and Gloria Muñoz. This is already set to open in theaters in Spain in March 2026 in a few months, though there's no other release dates outside of Spain yet. It looks like another vivid and intellectual charmer from Almodóvar. The teaser coming out at Christmas time is nice, though I hope we don't have to wait a year to watch it in US theaters.
