Fans react to Timberwolves’ Game 2 stunner vs. Nuggets

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves gutted out a hard-earned victory against the Denver Nuggets, 119-114, in Game 2 on Monday to tie their first-round series in the playoffs at 1-1.

The crowd at Ball Arena was left stunned as the Timberwolves completed a come-from-behind win. They trailed by as much as 19 points.

Edwards finished with a game-high 30 points, although he only shot 10-of-25 from the field, including 3-of-11 from long range. He added 10 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

Fans on X were awestruck by Minnesota’s gutsy victory on the road.

“What a game. First it was Atlanta (Hawks) over the (New York) Knicks, now, Wolves over Denver,” said @aywize27.

“(Nikola) Jokic and (Jamal) Murray went 2/13 in the fourth quarter. Kudos to (Rudy) Gobert and (Jaden) McDaniels for absolutely locking them up on defense,” added @Aruninvincible4.

The Nuggets took control of the game in the first half behind Murray’s hot shooting, including a half-court buzzer-beater.

But the Timberwolves kept biting back, slowly chipping away at the lead before finally taking the driver’s seat, 108-107, with 4:34 remaining after McDaniel’s dunk.

From there, the Timberwolves did not let go of the momentum, snapping the Nuggets’ 13-game winning streak.

Julius Randle added 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

It was a critical win for Minnesota, which has never won a series in the playoffs when going down, 2-0.
