Fans clown Pistons for embarrassing Game 1 loss to Magic

The Detroit Pistons walked off Little Caesars Palace on Sunday with dejected looks after they suffered a shocking loss to the Orlando Magic, 112-101, in Game 1 of their first-round series.

The Magic was all-business right from the get-go, outscoring the Pistons, 35-27 in the first half. Detroit tried to rally in the second half, but Orlando stymied every run to seal the impressive win and build more momentum after surviving the Play-In Tournament.

The top-seeded Pistons dropped their 11th straight game at home in the playoffs, the longest skid in postseason history.

Fans quickly roasted Detroit on X after falling to the eight-seeded Magic.

“God hates Detroit. No other answer,” said @WellOverTheNest.

“LMAO, Pistons were actually trying to steal the W, but Orlando performed magic,” added @TankYhak.

“Detroit ain’t gonna do s***, they don’t got bucket-getters. Yeah, that defense is good AF, but can’t be your only savior,” wrote @hornetwitiq.

“Pistons are frauds. They only won in the regular season because they played hard every night. Almost like how the (Charlotte) Hornets and (Atlanta) Hawks played harder the last part of the season, but not so good in the playoffs,” claimed @DUBG1088.

“Magic defense had (Jalen) Duren locked up all night,” posted @Talk30s.

Cade Cunningham was the lone bright spot for the Pistons, scoring a game-high 39 points. He also had five rebounds and four assists.

Duren was limited to eight points on four shots. He added seven rebounds.

The Pistons only shot 40% from the field. They were also pummeled inside, with Magic finishing with a 20-point advantage in points in the paint, 54-34.

Game 2 is on Wednesday.
