Exclusive: AEW’s Adam Copeland drops cold ‘uber violence’ tease for Beekeeper 2 role

Perhaps best known for his role as Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, AEW star Adam Copeland will star in the upcoming Jason Statham-led movie, The Beekeeper 2.

Speaking to ClutchPoints ahead of AEW Double or Nothing 2026, Copeland was asked to describe his role in The Beekeeper 2 in three or fewer words.

He only needed one, saying, “violence.” The former WWE Superstar quickly followed that up with a two-word response, saying, “uber violence,” with a jolly laugh.

Of course, he left the door open for another phrase, “Rated-R.” The “Rated-R Superstar” laughed at this response, conceding, “touché.”

Who is AEW’s Adam Copeland playing in The Beekeeper 2?

It’s unknown who Copeland will play in The Beekeeper 2. He kept his cards close to the vest, not slipping any details about his character.

However, he will be joining a stacked cast. Statham returns as Adam Clay, and Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons will also reprise their roles from The Beekeeper. Former Guardians of the Galaxy actress Pom Klementieff and Yara Shahidi also join the cast.

The Beekeeper was a 2024 action movie directed by David Ayer. It was a box office success, grossing over $160 million on a $40 million budget.

This time around, Ayer will not be directing the sequel. Timo Tjahjanto takes the reins, and Umair Aleem will write the script. Amazon MGM Studios has slated it for a Jan. 15, 2027, release date in the United States.

Copeland’s acting career predates this project by several years. His first proper appearance in a movie was in 2000’s Highlander: Endgame. He has also appeared in Bending the Rules, Interrogation, and Money Plane.

Additionally, around the time of his initial retirement from professional wrestling, he landed a recurring role in Haven, appearing in 42 episodes. He has also had a recurring role in Vikings and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
