Ex-WWE star Kairi Sane claps back at ‘walked away’ rumors after release

Think what you want to think about Kairi Sane’s WWE release, but the former Kabuki Warriors member has clapped back at the rumors surrounding her exit.

Sane took to X, formerly Twitter, to post a viral message to clarify the rumors. She made it clear that she “never walked away,” and she has “given my all in everything I do.” It appears she took issue with some rumors that she didn’t give her all in WWE.

“What I can say is I know there’s been a lot of speculation, but I truly love this work, my teammates, and my fans. I’ve never walked away, and I’ve given my all in everything I do,” Sane wrote. “I hope you’re all doing well [red heart emoji].”

It’s unknown what Sane will do next after her release. There were reports that she returned to Japan, so perhaps she will rejoin World Wonder Ring Stardom or New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).

Kairi Sane’s surprising WWE release

Over the Apr. 25 weekend, the latest wave of WWE roster cuts was reported. The Wyatt Sicks faction and singles stars like Zoey Star were let go.

Sane was one of the most surprising names on the list, largely because she was in the midst of a storyline with Asuka and Iyo Sky. Asuka and Sane have been a tag team for a long time, but their relationship has turned hostile over the last year.

Asuka has begun berating Sane after losses. All signs pointed to Sane eventually breaking free of Asuka’s grasp and turning on her. However, for now, that doesn’t appear likely to happen anytime soon.

Her release ended her second stint with WWE. Sane was first with the company from 2016 to 2021. She left in 2021 but would later return in 2023, joining the Damage CTRL stable. The group eventually quietly disbanded after Dakota Kai’s release, and Sane and Asuka continued as a tag team.
