Eerie Official Trailer for 'undertone' Horror About a Scary Recordings
"You shouldn't have called out to her. It's what she wants." A24 has unveiled an official trailer for the indie horror film called undertone, also known as The Undertone, now set for release in US theaters in March. This creepy audio horror thriller first premiered at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal last summer because it's a Canadian film. It's next playing at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival this month in their iconic Midnight section before hitting theaters in a few months. When she's sent recordings of a pregnant couple's paranormal encounters, she discovers their story parallels hers, each tape pushing her toward madness. "It wants to be heard!" Well that's frightening! From writer and director Ian Tuason, undertone stars Nina Kiri, Kris Holden-Ried, Michèle Duquet, Keana Lyn Bastidasand, Sarah Beaudin, Seled Calderon, and Adam DiMarco. Evy is the only character to be shown on-screen in the film. All other characters are heard only as off-screen voices, thus conveying the film's horror through its sound design. Goodness this looks insanely scary! Wow. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Ian Tuason's horror film undertone, direct from A24's YouTube: Strained by the responsibility of having to care for her dying mother, Evy (Nina Kiri) seeks respite […]
