Dustin Johnson signs multi-year extension with LIV Golf, 4Aces GC
Dustin Johnson isn’t going anywhere.
It was announced on Wednesday that he has signed a multi-year extension with his LIV team, 4Aces GC.
4Aces GC of the LIV Golf League, the global golf league blending world-class competition with entertainment and culture to grow the game worldwide, announced it has signed captain and two-time major champion Dustin Johnson to a multi-year extension and signed European rising star Thomas Detry. The 33-year-old Detry joins a 4Aces core also comprised of 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed and former Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters, locking in an elite roster for 2026.
This news may seem a bit out of place, but the subject of notable players potentially swapping tours has sort of been a thing this week. Did you not see the Brooks Koepka news?!
Koepka is indeed returning to the PGA Tour thanks to its new “Returning Members Program” and the program carries eligibility for three other LIV Golf players: Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cam Smith.
Smith noted on Tuesday that he will be staying with LIV, a sentiment that both DeChambeau and Rahm echoed in their own ways. It is not fully known why Koepka was able to get out of his contract with LIV for the 2026 season, but that is clearly a factor here.
It was also noted in the same announcement DJ’s 4Aces team will also have Thomas Pieters as a part of the group.
“This team is built for big moments, and 2026 is a chance for us to take another step forward,” Johnson said. “Thomas Detry is a great addition; he’s confident, competitive, and that fits exactly what we’re about. We’ve got the talent, the chemistry, and the mindset to be right there all season.”
Detry joins 4Aces GC for the 2026 season, bringing proven winning experience and an international pedigree, recently becoming the first player from Belgium to win on the PGA Tour when he stormed to a seven-shot victory at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. Detry’s steady all-around game and comfort on golf’s biggest stages make him a natural fit within a 4Aces team built for high-stakes moments.
“There’s an amazing vibe around the 4Aces that you feel right away,” Detry said. “You can see they play with confidence and there’s a definite swagger coming from all the guys… feeling like you belong on the biggest stages. That’s exactly the type of environment I want to be a part of.”
As you were.
