Draymond Green to fill in for Kenny Smith on ESPN’s ‘Inside The NBA’
Over the past couple of years, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has ventured into the media space, starting his own podcast and even making several guest appearances on the Emmy Award winning show, ‘Inside The NBA.’
Now with the playoffs in full swing Draymond Green is set to make his return to the national media sphere as the Warriors veteran will fill in for Kenny Smith on ‘Inside The NBA,’ this week, and will make two more appearances when the conference finals get underway, as per Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal.
Green first made an appearance on the show in 2021, and has sporadically appeared since then. He most recently was a part of the show’s coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals last season between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers.
Throughout the season, Green regularly hosts his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ where he gives his take on various topics regarding the NBA. One of Green’s latest topics of interest was explaining why he thought Kon Knueppel had a strong case for Rookie of the Year.
It’s led to speculation on whether or not Green has a potential career in media once his playing days are over. But for now, he’s still got a job with the Warriors.
Green appeared in 68 games at a little over 27 minutes per game. He averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists with splits of 41.8 percent shooting from the field, 32.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 70.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
It’s going to be potentially interesting offseason though as Green can opt out of his current contract and become an unrestricted free agent.
