Draymond Green leaves legends off Warriors Mt. Rushmore
The Golden State Warriors have produced so much illustrious talent that it would be hard to choose four to put on their Mt. Rushmore. But Draymond Green took the honor of figuring that out.
However, he negated a few big names, per Post Moves With Candace Parker. When talking with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston, Green mentioned who he included along with himself.
“I’ll say Steph Curry, Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green,” he said. “I don’t think there’s any other way to slice that. We’re talking Mt. Rushmore, that would be importance right? No question.”
Interestingly enough, Green forgot to mention the likes of Wilt Chamberlain, Rick Barry, Chris Mullin, and Tim Hardaway.
Chamberlain played five seasons for the Philadelphia Warriors from 1959 to 1965. In 1962, Chamberlain scored 100 points for the Warriors against the New York Knicks.
Barry was a 12-time NBA All-Star and became a five-time All-NBA player. He was part of the 1975 team that won the NBA championship in their 4th season in Golden State.
Mullin and Hardaway played for the Golden State Warriors in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Both were two members of the famed “Run TMC” alongside Mitch Redmond. Mullin played from 1985 to 1997 and from 2000 to 2001. Meanwhile, Hardaway played from 1989 to 1996.
They were instrumental in popularizing a fast-paced style of play at that time.
Under Steve Kerr, Curry, Thompson, and Green led the Warriors to four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022). In 2016, they set an NBA record with 73 wins in a season, before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
