Dodgers place Tyler Glasnow on IL before Braves clash

Tyler Glasnow recently discussed how much better physically he has felt in the beginning of the 2026 campaign, but fans know better than to make assumptions when it comes to the 6-foot-8 starting pitcher’s health. The Los Angeles Dodgers are placing him on the injured list with low back spasms, the team announced on Friday.

LA refrained from immediately making this move, but the two-time defending World Series champions do not want to risk the 2024 All-Star’s long-term status. They will need him in October.

Glasnow left Wednesday’s  12-2 road win versus the Houston Astros after just one inning of work. He has been dealing with this specific issue since high school, so hopefully there won’t be any surprises during this recovery process. The Dodgers are recalling fellow right-hander Paul Gervase in Glasnow’s place. He allowed one run in two innings pitched in an August game against the Colorado Rockies last season.
