However, in the age where breaking kayfabe is normalized with series like Netflix’s Unreal, it’s hard to distinguish what’s real and fake at times. The lines have been blurred.

Reports now suggest that Punk may have taken things into his own hands during his latest pipebomb. PWInsider (via Cultaholic) reports that Punk was given a “plan” for his promo, but he “went out there and cut a different promo.”

This is very similar to his original pipebomb from 2011. Punk spoke from the heart, and the crowd was eating up every word he delivered.

In WWE, Punk is known as the “Voice of the Voiceless,” which may explain why he voiced his frustrations on live TV. According to PWInsider, he is not alone as “several talents” have “expressed frustration with the fact that tickets are priced so high.”

That’s not the only grievance some talent have, though. The report added that they are also upset that “there are so many [tickets] left for the top show of the year” to purchase, but each talent only gets “two comp tickets” for the night they are performing.

Punk, being one of the company’s top stars, used his platform to address real concerns backstage. Fans will have to wait and see how WWE responds. It’s now being reported that they will lower ticket prices over the summer.

On Sunday, Apr. 19, 2026, Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. More than likely, they will close out the show, ending WrestleMania 42 weekend. This is the first time Punk has received this honor. He did participate in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 in 2025.
