Dianna Russini’s old savage diss of husband goes viral amid Mike Vrabel scandal

The ongoing scandal caused by NFL reporter Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has taken a turn after an old clip has reemerged.

During an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up a few years ago, Russini said, “I think we all do weird things when we’re in love. We overshare and over-post. I’m married to someone average. I don’t post a lot about him. If I was married to someone beautiful, I’d over-post too.”

This is somewhat ironic, as fans are speculating that Russini and Vrabel, who are both married, are romantically linked after being spotted “holding hands and hugging” in Sedona, Arizona. When Russini originally posted the clip in 2021, she also captioned it, “I blame Aaron Rodgers for my potential divorce.”

Vrabel and Russini’s appearance caused a stir online, especially because both parties are married. However, they both responded to the allegations.

“The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.” Russini reportedly said in a statement via The Daily Mail.

Vrabel similarly refuted the “laughable” rumors that anything romantic was happening. He called it a “completely innocent interaction” between them.

“These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.” Vrabel reportedly said, per The Daily Mail.

Currently, Russini is employed by The Athletic. She is one of their top NFL reporters, and one of her bosses, executive editor Steven Ginsberg, responded to the photos as well.

“These photos are misleading and lack essential context,” Ginsberg told the Post. “These were public interactions in front of many people. Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic.”
