Dave Roberts diagnoses Dodgers’ recent offensive struggles

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a bad spot recently, owning a 5-5 record over their last 10 games. For most teams, it wouldn’t be a massive deal, considering they are still nine games over .500 and in first place in the NL West. However, for the Dodgers, winning 50% of their games over an extended period can cause some panic for the fans and their manager, Dave Roberts.

One of the most concerning parts of the Dodgers’ run has been the offense, as they lost their last two games against the Miami Marlins, scoring just three runs total. With the amount of money the Dodgers are paying some elite hitters to get the job done, they’ve been a bit inconsistent early this season. Roberts is starting to see a pattern, according to SportsNet LA via X, formerly Twitter.

“I don’t think we’re collectively swinging the bats the way we were early… the last 10 days it hasn’t been synced up,” Roberts stated.

The disappointing thing for the Dodgers over the past 10 games is that their big hitters haven’t been showing up. Over that span, Miguel Rojas, Max Muncy, and Santiago Espinal are leading Los Angeles in batting average, with Kyle Tucker, Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernandez sitting near the bottom of the list.

The Dodgers owe it to their players to believe they’ll turn it around, given the past few seasons, and they have some leeway given the standings, but it’s still something to keep an eye on as the season rolls on.
