Dave Meltzer fires back at ‘nutcases’ after WWE SmackDown, AEW appearances

One of the most reputed wrestling historians and journalists in the industry, Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s (WON) Dave Meltzer, recently called out the “nutcases” who ranted on him for his WWE SmackDown and AEW appearances.

A few weeks ago, Meltzer was spotted sitting in the front row during an AEW Dynamite episode in San Jose, California. Shortly after his appearance, the internet went wild with accusations about Meltzer’s favoritism towards All Elite Wrestling. However, weeks later, when Meltzer attended a Friday Night SmackDown episode in the same city, the internet failed to display a similar outrage and thus showcased its hypocrisy.

Meltzer took notice of it and recently ranted about it on social media. “I went to an AEW show and WWE show in the same city a few weeks apart. Nutcases on one side spent two days complaining I went to one show. Nutcases on one side today haven’t said a thing. Nutcases on the other side didn’t care. I didn’t go to either show as a social experiment, but even if that wasn’t the goal, it sure exposed a lot of people,” he wrote.

Eric Bischoff trolled Dave Meltzer’s AEW appearance

Former wrestling personality Eric Bischoff is a known AEW critic. Often known for sharing his harsh criticism on All Elite Wrestling, Bischoff recently trolled Meltzer after his Dynamite appearance went viral. He posted a fake movie poster with the viral image of Meltzer on it. Also, during an exclusive with ClutchPoints, Bischoff pointed out how “no competition” exists between Tony Khan’s AEW and WWE.
