Danhausen claims Stephen A. Smith caved to keep Knicks ‘uncursed’ after Game 1 win

After WWE Superstar Danhausen listed new demands for Stephen A. Smith to keep the Knicks “uncursed,” they won Game 1 of the NBA Finals vs. the Spurs.

Perhaps New York fans have the “Very Nice, Very Evil” Superstar to thank for that. After the Knicks’ Game 1 win, Danhausen claimed that Smith’s “check cleared,” ultimately leading to a win for them.

“KNICKSHAUSEN and the UNCURSE continue!” he said, before explaining why his post was so delayed after the game ended. “(Danhausen is on a European travel time delay).”

Hours before Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Knicks and the Spurs, Danhausen sent Smith a video message on First Take. Since he has “uncursed” the Knicks, they’ve been undefeated. In order for that to continue, the WWE star wanted more things, ranging from his own TV show to “more monies” to his desired courtside seats between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

However, Smith didn’t appreciate the tactic, calling Danhausen out for “blackmail.” He claimed it didn’t work, making it sound like he wouldn’t engage.

“People that are serious about this don’t blackmail you. They take their position, and they hold to it. He’s trying to blackmail; that does not work. He’s dampening his reputation by engaging in blackmail.”

Whether or not he caved remains unclear. From the sounds of it, Danhausen is happy, and the Knicks remain “uncursed,” at least for now.

The Knicks are rolling after beating the Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. They are now three wins away from the franchise’s first championship since 1973. The team had over a week of rest since their last game, since they swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Meanwhile, the Spurs were just days removed from a seven-game series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
