Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong drops honest response to making baseball ‘cool’ question
Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong has become a favorite, not just for fans of the team, but for young fans around the world. His flashy plays on defense, combined with his thrilling at-bats, are just two reasons why he’s managed to build excitement for baseball fans everywhere.
On Tuesday, hours before the start of the MLB All-Star Game, the 24-year-old outfielder was asked about his role in helping make baseball cool. He credited the current veterans in the league for playing a part in his development and believes that he and his generation are taking what they’ve learned and are adding their own unique flair to the sport.
“That’s my generation too, like, I think my age group of players, the new wave coming in,” Crow-Armstrong said. “I think we all have a different kind of perspective of the game. Just because we were in such a cool transitional period. Guys like [Miguel Cabrera], all those [guys] being a big part of my life. But now then, you got [Francisco] Lindor, [Aaron Judge], that are the vets. We’re just trying to follow in their footsteps. But do it our way as well.”
It's all about looking cool on the red carpet.

The two-time All-Star made his MLB debut in 2023. However, he didn’t break out as a superstar talent until the 2025 campaign. Pete Crow-Armstrong has maintained that high level of play throughout 2026, as he’s been one of the hottest hitters in the league leading up to the All-Star break.
Through 358 at-bats this year, Crow-Armstrong has recorded 104 hits, 21 home runs, and 53 RBIs, giving him a .291 batting average and .386 OBP. While he’s seemingly on pace to surpass his career-high of 31 home runs in a single season, he’s also managed to steal 24 bases while leading all of MLB in WAR with 5.8.
