Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway LIVE: Results and updates from UFC 329

Conor McGregor returns to the UFC Octagon for the first time in  1,827 days tonight in Las Vegas.

Almost five years to the day of his anticlimactic trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier, McGregor runs it back with another familiar foe in Max Holloway.

McGregor defeated Holloway on points 13 years ago, long before either man had carved out their legendary careers.

But while McGregor has spent an extended period on the sidelines, Holloway has competed eight times during his absence.

You would have to go all the way back to January 2020 to find the last win on McGregor’s resume – a one-round blowout of Donald Cerrone.

Holloway, meanwhile, holds recent victories over Poirier and the current reigning lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, alongside defeats to Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira.

It is for this reason that McGregor enters as a sizeable underdog, although plenty of fans will be tuning in to see if he can roll back the years.
