Conor McGregor reveals drastic measures after broken leg to make Max Holloway UFC comeback
Conor McGregor has opened up about his comeback rematch with Max Holloway for the first time.
McGregor has finally had his long-awaited return confirmed for July 11 on International Fight Week at UFC 329.

The Irishman will end his five year hiatus from the cage in a mouth-watering second meeting with Holloway.
For the UFC superstar, it has been a long and frustrating road back to action after breaking his leg in defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
And he has revealed that he has been preparing for the possibility of reinjuring himself to ensure he is covered for all eventualities.
McGregor explained: “Now as I have become a lot more experienced in the game I actually work backwards towards the perfect scenario.
“I have had a limb break inside the octagon, and now I must have an answer to that midway through the first round, what’s my mechanisms?
“The knee dislocates in the first round, what’s my movements, my reactions? Do I switch the stance or go to my back?
“I have a whole selection of responses to the worst case scenarios. Not that I sit and dwell on them, or overthink them, but I just have them.
“So if the ankle goes, if the knee goes, if the shoulder goes, what’s my response? Because the fight’s not over.
If you have a maneuver, you can outlast and you can survive in there and you can work towards the victory.
“I have found as I have gotten more experience in the fight game to work my way backwards from the worst case scenario, to the best case scenario.

“And then focus and prepare for the best case scenario. That’s where I’m at right now. I have every situation that may occur and my answers to them.”
McGregor eyeing big victory
For the big-selling superstar, a win could see him immediately be catapulted back into title contention.
The bout will take place at 170lbs and given his star quality, bigger and better fights could await.
When the pair previously met in 2013, the fast-rising superstar got the better of ‘Blessed’ by decision.
And he believes this time it will be his hand being raised again,
McGregor said: “My body’s fresh, my mind is sharp. I’m ready to come back. I’ve got a great opponent.

“I’ve got a great deal off the UFC. I’m very, very happy. They honored me, finally.
“So, July 11, the opponent is a man I’ve beaten before in Max Holloway.
“He is an established fighter, an accomplished fighter, a former UFC world champion, multiple time, so this is a quality opponent.
“Our last bout (in 2013) was martial arts mastery by your truly, so I plan on doing it again.”
