Colts, Kenny Moore II mutually agree to seek trade
The Indianapolis Colts have made a few moves during the offseason to keep their team competitive heading into next season. Unfortunately, it looks like they’ll be losing some key players throughout the process, and it could be by trade. One of those players is Kenny Moore II, as both sides have come to an agreement to seek a new team for him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Sources: Colts and Kenny Moore II mutually have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran cornerback. Moore is entering the last year of his contract, and both sides feel it is time to explore a trade,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Moore has been a mainstay with the Colts for some time, and he’ll be looking to make an impact on someone else’s team.
“Kenny Moore has spent the past nine seasons in Indianapolis, where he recorded 649 tackles while also being voted to the Pro Bowl in 2021. Now it appears his time there is coming to an end,” Schefter wrote.
Moore was a part-time starter last season, as he missed three games with an Achilles strain. He finished the season with one interception, two forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks and six passes defended.
The Colts have players such as Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward in their secondary room, and they may be comfortable with moving on from Moore.
There is still some uncertainty surrounding Ward, as he considered retirement after having three concussions last season. In February, he let it be known that he was reconsidering the decision, but there hasn’t been an update on that front as of now.
The Colts are looking to recapture the magic they had in the first half of last season before injuries started to pile up for some of their key players.
