Chiefs’ Mansoor Delane ready to join winning side of Ravens rivalry
Kansas City Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane hails from Maryland and therefore had a natural inclination to follow the Baltimore Ravens. During his time as a member of The Flock, the former LSU star also got to know his new team. He witnessed KC’s rise, which initially evoked feelings of bitter disappointment. Delane has come to appreciate the Chiefs’ greatness now, however, and he is focused on helping them reclaim their throne.
Even if it comes at the expense of Baltimore. “I grew up a Ravens fan, not a Ravens fan anymore,” the unanimous All-American told the media on Friday, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. “Obviously, {there were} some battles. Could never get past the Chiefs, so I definitely grew up knowing what y’all do.”

Delane believes he is on the right side of this AFC rivalry now. Baltimore is confident it has what it takes to win a championship after overhauling the coaching staff and making significant additions to their roster. Led by two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Ravens are expected to resume their Super Bowl contender status after missing the playoffs in gut-wrenching fashion last season.
Kansas City is coming off its own brutal campaign and is hoping an active offseason will rejuvenate this dynasty. The Chiefs think Delane will be integral to their pursuit for redemption. They traded the No. 9, No. 74 and No. 148 selections to the Cleveland Browns for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, refusing to let anyone else snag the impactful talent.
While some analysts and fans believe KC reached, the organization desperately needed an affordable CB after trading Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams and losing Jaylen Watson to LA in free agency. Mansoor Delane was arguably the top player at his position in the 2026 class, possessing an impressive blend of athleticism and instincts.
The 22-year-old posted two interceptions, seven pass breakups, a 31.3 passer rating allowed and 26 solo tackles for the Tigers last season. He intends to quickly assert himself as a lockdown corner for the Chiefs, and that might include thwarting Lamar Jackson and his formerly beloved Ravens.
