Chicago PD - Born Screaming - Review : The Intelligence Unit Are Coming For Bell
I’m genuinely not sure if my heart rate ever decreased whilst watching this episode. This episode for me was an absolute cinematic masterpiece from start to finish. Every single moment of the episode had me hooked; I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. Arienne Mandi's Eva Imani has been such an incredible addition to the show, she very much reminds me of Hailey Upton. This episode shone such a great light on who Eva is as a person, we even got to learn a little bit more about her sister, Voight really has been a good sounding board for her. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of their dynamic in future episodes. “Born Screaming” – CHICAGO PD. Pictured: Arienne Mandi as Eva Imani. It’s safe to say it was absolutely worth the wait to have an episode be fully focused on him and his storyline. The suspense when Eva was stuck in the murder dungeon and Julie wouldn’t help her get out was so high. She didn’t even get a moments peace once she managed to get out of the dungeon because she was being shot at by Bell. I truly thought for a moment that we might lose her since those rounds came close to hitting her more than once, thankfully she managed to make it out alive. It didn’t shock me too much when Kev found the dead body hidden because we already knew it was a high chance he had murdered people, however it did shock me when we found out that he was being charged with 11 first degree murders. I don’t know how he managed to get away with it for so long. The capture scene for Raymond Bell was so awesome, my favourite part of the entire episode was Kev standing with the gun pointed at his head and saying “your call” it was so calm. I appreciated Bell being captured because I’d already jumped out of my skin when he shot through the door at Voight and Imani, he was a live wire in this episode. “Born Screaming” – CHICAGO PD. Julianna Layne did such an incredible job at acting out Julie’s trauma, she is very talented for such a young actor. The final scene between Voight and Commander Devlin was so powerful. I loved that we got a little bit more insight into why Voight is the way he is. As always, I loved that we got the title of the episode as dialogue. I really don’t know why Commander Devlin bothers to try and be on Voight’s bad side because it clearly isn’t going to end well, and by the way he was literally shaking when Voight said if he didn’t feel his dad’s presence then Devlin wouldn’t live through the day, he clearly isn’t fit to take Voight on. I can’t wait to see what the next episode has in store for the intelligence unit!
